Diagnosed with rosacea last month at 29. I always thought I just blushed a lot, or had "sensitive skin". Turns out it's a whole thing.

My triggers so far: hot showers, red wine, spicy food, the sun, stress, and apparently most skincare. So, everything good in life.

Anyone else? What helps you?

Hi, fellow tomato. Diagnosed at 25. My derm put me on a prescription gel (metronidazole) and it helped a lot with the bumps. The redness is harder. Green-tinted primer on days I want to hide it.

for skincare: fragrance-free EVERYTHING. and mineral sunscreen is usually gentler on rosacea skin than chemical ones

Azelaic acid! Ask your derm about it. It changed my life. It stings a bit at first, but that goes away after a week or two.

I'll ask at my follow-up, thank you. I'm writing everything down

It's not always obvious, but it can affect your eyes too. Mine get dry and gritty. If yours feel off, mention it to your doctor, it's called ocular rosacea.
My girlfriend says I play too much. She's not wrong.

@spriteraider7 wait, my eyes have been dry and irritated for months and I thought it was from staring at screens all day

Follow-up today: started azelaic acid, the derm checked my eyes and yep, it's in my eyes too. Got drops. Feeling a lot more hopeful. Thank you everyone, I'm glad I posted.
